puter sees ip touch but doesnt offer sync

as title, the ipod (jailbroke new version) is seen and charges, test mode checks out all ok except the sync bit. in file options sync is grayed out ???? help!

Make sure your running the newest version of iTunes on your computer....try a different usb port....try a different usb cable.

tried above, tried different laptop but still no joy.

If sync is greyed out this may mean nothing has been ticked to sync? No music , no apps, etc etc.

update, mate that did the jailbrake had a look, now same on his puter tho he used i tunes to install software. in the end he installed a different jailbrake so its now tethered but works. odd tho as he is sure he did another identical install that is still ok.
