Software Update Doesn't Work?

Whenever I try to use software update on Mac OS X Lion it gets to the very end and stops. It doesn't give me an error or anything. It says it may take a few minutes but I left it for hours and no progress. Please help!

Try turning the firewall off..

My app store doesnt work when its turned on.. even when ive added the rule.. and it does the same as yours.
