Hi you could try Grabit I use it on windows and find it very good , never tried it on the mac .

I use unison & mac par. Stuffit expander is also good for zip files. I switched from windows to mac about 12-18 mnths ago where i used to use newsleecher. If you google "usenet client mac" or "mac alternatives to newsleecher" you'll find loads of info, but i think unison is the best! You can get newsleecher on your mac but you need a prog called crossover. Also winrar is now available on mac but not used that yet!

+1 on Sabnzbd.
I switched to a mac about a year ago and was disappointed that Grabit is not available for the mac.
Sabnzbd will do it all for you and works away in the background.
