r4 Firmware

Evening all,

Sorry about this post, I expect you get this a lot. I have an R4 card, I would like to know if this will play newer games and where to get the latest firmware. I last used it about 18 months ago I think. I've searched about, I really didn't know there were so many! In any case, this is mine:

It takes upto a 2G micro SD card. Think its about 2 years old. When I turn it on with the card in has v1.10 in the bottom left corner of the R4 main menu. Its a DS Lite.

Anyway, any help would be great.

hi m8 and welcome to dk.

your card looks like an original r4 card and will play almost all games on a dslite with the latest woods firmware.


backup you microsd card first........

1.delete your old firmware from the sdcard (any file that doesnt end .nds or .sav)
if you are unsure just format the sd card.

2. download latest woods firmware.
Digital Kaos - Downloads - woods 1.26

3. extract the file and copy the _rpg folder and dsmenu file to root of your sd card.

4. try a few games.

if it works it will play everything.

Hi I am new here and didnt want to make a new thread for the same problem that everyone else has . anyway I have an older DS or possibly DSlite and an R4 card. I think its an R4III card it was working fine and i got some new games and nothing but white screen. anyways i have tried every version of the woods firmware i could find and i get nothing but a loading screen. i formatted the sd card (which is 2Gb) and followed all the instructions but still nothing. any help?

the woods firmware is for original r4 cards ,
if yours is r4 III then the firmware wont work on it.

those cards aren't supported anymore, so newer games won't work....

Is there a way to downgrade from 1.4.3 version to 1.4. I updated in error and want to go back to the previous version

there are a few cards you can use on latest dsi.
i like the acekards.

there simple to use and the cards can be updated.....

Wood FW works on my card but if I try to boot a game, it sais it cannot read my savefile...

r4 update

hi guys,

im new on here too. and was wondering if this update would solve a problem i have had . i bought my r4 about a year or so ago and when i loaded a new game on it the menu came up fine but when it came to pick a memory slot to save on nothing would work. mine when on first screen says v1.18
would appreciate it
