EDIT:

Ok, so I backed up contents of sd card, formated using latest version of sd formater which I had already done when I updated to latest frimware but did it again anyway.

I put new firmware back on, created games folder, put Lego Star Wars 3 in it and it loaded straight away.

Whatever the reason for it not working, it now works.
