    nds file renaming question

    Hi guys,

I have a question regarding the nds file you end up with after extraction.

Lets just say I have downloaded the curious village for example, after extraction I am left with the nds file, but mostly I have noticed that the person that posted the rom makes up a weird nds file name, like for the game curious village its bigdave_rom.nds (for example), this is confusing once put on my dsi xl as when mixed in amongs another 20 odd games its difficult to remember what game bigdave_rom.nds actually is.

Could I rename the nds file before putting it on my dsi xl to say cur_vill.nds (for example)?, or would renaming the file affect the loading/running of the game?

    Thanks.

yes m8, i know what you mean.

just right click and rename it.
as long as it ends in .nds it will work fine.

if you are going to rename files that you have used
you will have to change the sav file too or the game will just make another one......

    i normally
load the game to see which rom it is
put the sd card back into pc and rename it and delete the sav file.

Nice one, thanks for that Andy.

BTW, its working a treat, just completed Sherlock Holmes and the curse of the mummy the other night, and am almost finished Rooms the main building, will give The Curious Village a go next, but will start renaming nds files before I add anymore games, thanks Andy.
