The website on my card is www.r4i-sdhc.com I chose my card and downloaded the english version of V1.40b which aparently is the updated version. It works on my daughters friends DS Lite and original games work on our 1 but the R4 card is not recognised at all....it says no game card is inserted at slot 1 xxLast edited by gillg7; 22 June, 2011, 10:14.Comment

well if its working on one dslite and not the other, it must be a contact problem.
if you look at the metal contacts on some flashcards compared to a proper catridge, you will notice the contacts are not as pronounced on the gamecards.
not all gamecards are like this.
basically i think the card is not making contact correctly with yer console.
sometimes it is possible to slide paper or card between the contacts and catridge cover to push them out a bit.
acekards used to be famous for it.
have a look at this video and see if you think this is what could be wrong with your card.

i know yours isnt an acekard , but you will see what i mean.....

Thanks, that does make a lot of sense!! I will def try this and I have also ordered a multi screwdriver tool kit to open up the DS ITE and try and clean it a bit as yesterday I cleaned the inside part I could reach with cotton buds and it was quite dirty....before I did this the original game I have didn't work either but now does. I'll try following the video and will be sure to get back to you with the result....thnx again xxComment

aye, with some flashcards , you cant do it, by the sound of your previous post , the fault is with the console anyways.
once you open it up, you wioll see a metal plate covering the catridge slot, you will need to CAREFULLY
desolder and remove it to access the pins.....
