r4i goldxl problem

i have just bought a new r4 card or as it says on the box "r4i goldxl"

i bought it at a local 'independant' mobile phone shop.
the guy said to me to go to the website that was printed on the box and to d/load the firmware to get it working.
i did as he said and for the life of me i can not get this thing to work, all i get is "there is no card inserted in the ds game card slot"

now for the deatails:

dsi xl running 1.4E

the r4i goldxl card is this one R4I-GOLDXL Revolution for NDSi/NDSL/NDS

(if you look at the banner it shows 2 cards mine is the one with the gold label on it)

finally the micro sd card is a 4gb "team"
if i have missed something out then please let me know, also if anyone can help it would be appreciated as i'm getting it in the neck from the missus,

card could faulty, sounds like you have done every thing right, that card should play on dsi 1.4

when you are putting the firmware on the card you need to extract the files, then open the folder and copy the varios files/folders inside it to root of sd card, if you just copy the folder over it wont work.

also might be worth formatting your sd card before putting the files on.

thanks for the reply, i have already done as you said and copied over the files onto the root of the sd but i did notice that none of the folders said r4i they said TT. could it be the wrong firmware is posted up on the website?

i wouldn't have thought so, its sounds more like a faulty card to me.

i dont have on of those cards, but normally if you put the gamecard in without an sd card or wrong firmware, the console will see the card but just hang on loading screen when you try to start it.

im not sure if this is the case for all gamecards
