If I buy a DS XL will it be 1.4.1

I want to buy a new DS XL

If I buy one on the high street will it be a v1.4.1 or is it likely to be with an updated firmware?

Reason I ask is because I have an Acekard which is for DS 1.4.1

i doubt you will get a dsi on 1.4.1 from a shop now.

dsi 1.4.2 update was introduced on 11/5/2011.

so unless the console has been in the shop for a few months it'll be on newer firmware...

Hmm. Well John Lewis have had a stack of Brown XL in there store for ages as most people go for the reds and not the browns. I suppose I could go in and get them to scan the barcodes how long they've had them in stock for and which if any arrived in store prior to 11/5/2011

The symbol on the new card was different to my old card. The new one has what looks like an official acekard logo. On the old card it was the logo of a game can't remember what though. I assumed the different logo was because the card was being run on an old DS Lite.

each time the card gets updated the symbol changes.

if you know what symbol it shows up as , i can tell you which consoles it will work on.....

i reconise the old logo that was 1.4.2 i think.

i dont recognise the new one at all.

the logo used on the 1.4.3 is the dorasu game again but with diffrent icon

if it hasn't got the holographic sticker on it, then it proberly is....

No mate. It wasn't a game in the logo. It was deiniftely an acekard logo

i wold just try updating it, if it doesnt work then buy an original acekard.

acekards were first blocked 2 years ago by the dsi 1.4 firmware update.
the first patch was danny phanton for 1.4 then alex ryder stormbreaker for 1.4.1.

so i can't understand how your card works on a 1.4.1 console.. .

I haven't tried it on a 1.4.1 console yet i've just tested it on a DS Lite. The reason I ask about 1.4.1 is that I assumed my card is at least 1.4.1 compatible. On the box it says DSi(XL) & 3DS compatible. The card I have is purchased from R4i-Gold.co.uk
