ds lite, R4 card not working

iv just bought a ds lite, my old R4 card doesnt work and just says no card inserted, is there anything i can do, just dont want to buy another one incase that one doesnt work aswell, any help much appreciated

Try cleaning the contacts on the R4 card and the micro SD card

iv tried cleaning them mate and no joy, iv also just tried my friends old card in my ds and that doesnt work either, is it something on this new ds thats the problem

are you sure its a dslite and not a dsi?

r4 cards should work on any version dslite but will not work on dsi's.
