Hey guys, sorry if I'm being repetitive; I know this is probably a hot topic with the new 3.0.0.6 update. Apologizing in advance for the lengthy post -- just wanted to make sure I got everything in here! :
I'm relatively new to the whole flash cart and r4i. I managed to successfully set the card up and play games on it when I first purchased it back in september. I bought my 3DS maybe a week or two after it was first released and hadn't updated it until literally an hour or so ago. HOWEVER, the for the past 2 days STRAIGHT I've been trying to figure out some weird kink that I can't really classify..
It started off with me trying to run the new Mario 3d land game. I hadn't known that no existing flash carts yet can run 3ds games so i basically wasted a whole 2 days of my life trying to figure out why i couldn't get the game working before I found this out. So I was just like "eff it" and found a dozen or so awesome DS games to keep myself busy.. Then came even more problems.
The games downloaded all right and their icons show up and everything, but when I click the game to play it, it goes to the "loading?" screen and stays there. I tried waiting a few minutes, but I didn't think it was a lagging problem because I've been playing Pokemon White for the last few months without a hitch/lagging -- BUT, when I went to try Pokemon White, suddenly it wouldn't work! It got stuck on the 'loading..' screen as well. Someone had recommended on yahoo answers (for someone else with a similar problem) to just delete everything on the cart, redownload the firmware, then read the games. Didn't work for me. Then I thought if I tried a bunch of kernals and firmwares from different developers I might be able to fix the problem.. but that was until I learned I had to use software specifically supplied by my cart's website (also, through trial-and-error, the cart wouldn't load at all with other firmwares).
SO I went back to R4-Download - R4,R4i-R4isdhc the beta r4 card and went to the link corresponding to my update version (3.0.0.6, second one down), which says it works with the 3.0 update.. but there's no link under the firmware update header!! To top it off, there's no e-mail supplied to contact the developer so I had to assume that the previous version's firmware (third one down on R4-Download - R4,R4i-R4isdhc the beta r4 card ) was fine and all I had to do was update the kernal. So, I tried that and NOW all I get is a white screen when I try to access the r4i card. After a little research I found R4i-SDHC 3DS v3.0 Upgrade White screen error fix (due to v1.49b) | 3dscardshop.co.uk Blog thought/think this might be the issue -- BUUUUUT, only problem with that solution is that, before I even updated my 3DS to 3.0.0.6, I got the same problem: white screen when trying to access the card when the above solution says it's for users who upgraded to 3.0.
So now I'm back to square 1. I don't know if this is a problem where my cart is being blocked because I updated my 3DS or something else. I've done SO many combinations of attempt-solutions I can't even record them all here accurately.
Oh, lastly -- is my Pokemon White game screwed up for good?? I don't know if when a game doesn't load, it's gone for good or it's the actual console's problem, not the game, or what. Sounds so nerdy of me haha but I wasted so much time on that game, it'd be beyond frustrating to know that all of those hours have gone down the toilet.. At first I thought it was just a matter of weeding out a 'bad' game, but after taking all of them out and plugging in just my pokemon game (which was working perfectly for months) and still not getting anything, I'm just .. x_____x If anyone could help me out with that as well I'd really appreciate it!
If anyone could help me out or enlighten me just a little -- please, please, PLEASE -- I'd so appreciate it!!! I'm driving myself nuts here!!!
