Question from a friend on a DSI

we bought chloe, mikey & tyler dsi xl's for xmas (pre-owned), as it happens mikey's did'nt work properly so we took it back, the shop didnt have any in so we had to order from their website, it has came today and they all have the r4i cards, all 3 cards work in chloe & tylers dsi's BUT none of them work in mikey's.....original games do, just none of the r4i cards we have here, do you have any idea why? we get a balck screen that says An error has occurred. and to power it off???? as you can guess mikey is gutted and we cant afford to be forking out for another dsi for him. do you know whats wrong with it?? thanks x

any idea's guys im just posting as i just got up and need breakfast LOL

it's probably just a firmware thing, the ones that work will be on a different firmware (v1.4.1/v1.4.2/v1.4.3), i don't have the xl so not sure how to find out which firmware you have,
wait till barrowmanandrew comes on and he'll point you in the right direction for the right kernel you need,

what you need to do is check which firmware the dsi's are on.

to do this, switch on each console without a catridge in and press settings (spanner icon), your version will be displayed on the right hand side of one of the dcreens.

will say 1.4.1 or 1.4.3 or summit similer.

also need to know what cards exactly you have,

need to know everything that is printed on cards including web addresses, lots of similer looking cards, need to be very specific here...
