Can I know what console your daughters have?
If NDS console, I suggest R4-SDHC card.
If NDSi console, I suggest R4I-SDHC V1.4.3 card.
If 3DS console, I suggest R4I-SDHC 3DS card.(This card only support 3DS console to play NDS/NDSI games).
These cards are enough to play. Quality is ok and price is low.

for a dslite i would recommend a r4 card.
you should be able to pick up for a couple of quid,
with woods firmware on it will play almost anything only drawback is cannot be used with sdhc cards, so 2gig tops.

for dsi and 3ds i would go for acekardi, well supported, cheapish and easy to use, beware of fakes though.
