R4i card not working DSi XL

My son has a dsi xl (mario special edition) which he has been using christmas with R4i Gold Plus card. For some reason the card has stopped working. I have tried the card in another DSi and it works - card info is: R4i Gold plus for 3DS/DSi/LL/XL/DSL/DS R4I GOLD PLUS|R4|R4I GOLD|R4i|3DS|DS|LL|XL|revolution|DSL|DSI|slow-motion|Real-Time-Save

on the back of the r4 card there is a red line which has R4IDS and Ver.3D. let me know if you need any more information. I have deleted all the games and tried reloading them, and still does not work.
I saw an earlier post, but was not sure if the links could be used with this R4i card. Can you offer any suggestions.

did he update the dsi online by any chance as that stops the card working in it

Try getting the latest firmware from the website which in usually on the r4 card or the packaging. Then it should work again.

r4 card no working

I think the R4 card stopped working after he had been on the internet, so I assume this is the reason. I have tried down loading the new firmware however this has not resolved the problems. I'm in the process of taking all the games off the game card and reformatting it and starting again. Are there any particular things I should do other than reformating the disk and reloading the games one at a time.

Just follow the instructions exactly. If it still doesnt work you will have to wait for the next release of firmware which will probably overcomethe problem. Nintendo block the cards and the card writers just write a new version to get around the block.

dsi xl - fixed

Many thanks for all your help. My son can now use his r4i card on his DSI XL. I think it was the firmware that needed upgrading on the R4i gold card that he has. Its taken me a couple of hours of trial and error, but finally got there.
