when i upgraded my nintendo 3DS to version 4.2.0-9U a week ago (displayed under system settings in the Nintendo 3DS) my R4I 3DS card (from R4I-SDHC.com) stoped working, so i upgraded the R4I-SDHC card to the latest V1.59b kernel. but still it does not work ( i get the message there is an error and please press the suttoff button)..i have wasted almost 3 days so far and i am still where i started.. is there a better card that i can just buy and put the kernel 1.59b and go? or i can fix the card i have now? my kids are killing me to fix their 3DS. thanks

that card should update no problem.

you need to put the 1.59 firmware on it and update in an older console.

this is the part i do not understand, i have seen it mentioned many times else where but how do i update the card in a consul that has a an older version of the software? on the R4I-SDHC website it says that the latest 1.59b kernel should work fine with Nintendo latest 3DS version , so i am wondering why am i not getting same result?

put the firmware and update file on the sd card.

when you put the card into an older console the card will work.

then when you run the update file it will re-program the flash card.

now your cad will work on your machine with the newer firmware.

one last question: when i put the card in the 3DS machine, i do not get same photo you posted earlier (where i can hit Config and do the rest).?

also when you say older consol, do you mean older DS? 3DS with older software? other types of DS?

one last question: is buying another R4I-SDHC will solve the problem? may be a better and newer one? thanks

i mean a console running older firmware.

you should get a settings option, just look in there..
