what ndsi ver 1.4.3 ect. ect do i buy
for the r4 cards work on ndsi

and what card do i buy ?

Is it the DSi or 3DS your son wants, cards will be different for each model but current new R4 cards will cover each model and the latest versions. DSi V1.4.4 and 3DS V4.1.0-8, the 3DS card will also work on the DSi but DSi card will not work on 3DS.

If your really unsure, buy your nintendo check the firmware in the settings and then check R4 website to see if this firmware is covered, even if it is not it soon will be but as far as I know latest R4's cover the latest firmware

Make sure you buy your card from a reputable dealer as there are a lot of fakes about. A reputable dealer will also keep you updated via email about any updates or problems Don't forget you need to buy a micro SD memory card also, to store games etc on, the bigger the card memory the more games can be stored.

There are plenty of guides on the net to help you, there is even a tutorial on Youtube
