    R4i-sdhc v1.4.3 will not upgrade

    Hi,
    Hopefully someone can help.
I have a R4i-sdhc v1.4.3 (yellow splash) card that i was using on a dsi xl. My son upgraded, now card will not work in dsi.
i recently purchased a ds lite to perform upgrade to R4i card.( Card works great in ds lite)
I put the newest kernel v1.61b on the sd card and it still works on ds lite.
Problem is when i go into ds lite R4i upgrade menu to upgrade R4i card i dont get a option to start upgrade, it still states that V1.4.3 is on card and there is only that version on the screen, no other version there.
All the tutorials show that this screen should have another version under the V1.4.3 and also there should be a start button but nothing.
I have setup the wifi also with a mario cart game.
I'm beginning to think this card can not be upgraded but every where i look it states that v1.4.3 is upgradeable.

    Any help would be appreciated
    Thanks in advance

    Tim

      ok more info:
DSI was running v1.4.3 i purchased a R4i-sdhc v1.4.3 card which did work great.
My son upgraded dsi to v1.4.4, card would not work anymore.
Purchased a ds lite, card works in it.
      i downloaded lastest kernel v1.6.1b from r4i-sdhc.com
      Installed on micro sd
Placed in ds lite, still works in it
So i go to r4i menu 3rd option go to upgrade. this is where the problem is, On the bottom left corner it states v.1.6.1b is installed.
On the top it states v1.4.3, there should be another box below this with the new firmware on it, and also a start button to perform upgrade.
But there is only a back button.
      My wifi is enabled.
I even tried upgrading with the rolling wifi symbol, it said it upgraded but the menu still states v.1.4.3 is the firmware on the r4i card.

      Need anymore info?

ok first of is the kernel in the root of the sd card and not inside a folder, also if you put the r4 card in an older ds and go to config and upgrade option it will work with the latest nintendo firmware

          Thanks for your reply.

I do have them on the root and not in a folder.

I have placed r4i in the ds lite, it works fine but when you go into the upgrade there is no option to uprade just to go back and there is only one version showing on the screen.
It states the new firmware version on the ds lite is v.1.6.2 in menu

There is just no option to upgrade card, its like its not upgradeable but i thought R4i-sdhc v1.4.3 was upgradable?

I can post pictures tomorrow if i need to.

          Cheers.

The config option is there but when i go into the upgrade option there is no button to start the upgrade and the new version is not there. there is just a button to go back.

I have seen this issue while doing searches but have not found a fix.

I am going to try a couple of older firmwares and see if the upgrade option comes up.

i will try to post pictures of my issue tonight or this weekend sometime.

Cheers and thanks for trying to help me.
