Very easy to update, but the suppliers question is a bit more difficult to answer. There are links in one of the other threads about acekard. The last supplier I used from the prc is supplying genuine cards but they don't come with the latest firmware so need to flashed with a ds/dsi on firmware 1.4 or less so if you have one on that firmware then you should be able to get a card from most places.

I also recommend acekard 2i. I've been using mine for a long time and have never had any complaints with its performance.
