Help about using R4 with foreign DS

My son has a DSi XL that was purchased in Australia. I am
now living in Europe and want to get him a R4 card. I didnt know they existed until the other day. I am way out of the loop....

Since his DS is from Australia will any R4 card from any region of the world work on it?

I also was hoping for advice in getting the right version too. I dont want to find I bought an obsolete version.

Any other tips really appreciated

doesn't matter what region the console came from.

r4 cards only work on dslites you will need an acekard or one of the many r4i cards or a super card dstwo.

you will need to find out which firmware your console is on and buy a card which is compatable with it.
