hi there was wondering if anybody here could take some time out to help me please.

i have lurked the board for the last 24 hours then finally registered today to ask for help

so i got a dsi yesterday and had a r4i card. the person had said it worked but now needed a update. so i looked on here and tried a few updates but nothing has worked. ive had the loading screen, the error screen and now a white screen.

going by previous posts i found out my dsi is version 1.3E and the r4i card says its version 1.4.3

can anyone help? would it be easier to start from scratch or can this be easily fixed?

the address on the card say R4 R4i SDHC Revolution for NDSi/NDSL/NDS R4i Cards R4 Cards i did look and try but to no avail.

the card also says its wifi? i have no idea what that means but thought id add it in case it helps

1: format your sd card with the panasonic formatting tool (back up any games first)
Digital Kaos - Downloads - sd formatting tool

2: download this firmware

3: extract the file and copy the various files and folders to root of sd card

see how you go with that..

ps, are you sure your dsi is on 1.3E firmware and not 1.4.3E?

ok i did step one and formatted the card, i went to stage 2 but its the same download as stage one.......

as for the version of the dsi i went into system setting and on the top screen it says on the bottom right ver 1.3E. is that where i get the version from?

yes, thats the correct firmware, so that card should work without any update

ok so i did that put it in switched it on and selected the card, it opens to a white screen that just says menu on the top screen. i doesn't seem to load any further

have you put a game on the card?

when you open the sd card ythe files should look like this.

if it still doenst work then try a diffrent sd card maybe...

ok so i put it back into the computer and it wanted me to reformat it before it even opened........you might be right about getting a new card.

however i had put the games back onto it that i took off before doing your instructions. there was two files to each games a nds file and a sav file, i put them both on. all i got was the white screen with menu.

tried all the steps again and taaaaaaaaaaadaaaaaaaaaaaa your a genius it works now to play around and learn how to use it

the .nds file is the game and the .sav file is the save data for the game.
the card creates a .sav file the first time yoyu load the game...

ah ha thanks for that info so if i delete the sav file it will also delete all the previous owners scores etc and it will then make me a new one when i play the game

wii is diffrent, dont use a card, but real easy to mod..
