Acekard 2i Struggling like mad

I have a ds lite. I got a r4 card working ok but now I am really struggling getting the Acekard 2 i to work.
I have formated a 8gb micro dd usinging the format tool from the acekard site and have put _aio file and the akmenu4.nds to the root of the card. Put the sd card into the acekard then put into ds lite but the ds appear not even to see the card never mind try to load it. I have also tried put in the new loaders

Either a faulty card or bad contacts, trying pushing the card down into the ds, see if it comes up or search youtube for acekard paper trick. ..
