r4 card new

i have just got a r4 card from a friend. no wee sd card in top. do i just pop any sd card in or does it have to be formated to anything. (already on fat32). i got a nds file and after poped in ds it just has black screen saying cant read game menu. please help

its always best practice to format the sd card using the panasonic formatting tool.

what sd card you can use will depend on what card it is.

original r4 cards dont support sdhc cards.

you will also need the correct firmware for the card.

need to know exactly which card it is for that, post a picture if possible.

it a basic r4
its just a basic 2 gig micro sd card. lost the 4 ut can get a hd 1

2: download this and extract to sd card.
Wood_R4_v1.54.rar

you should now have _rpg folder and dsmenu file on sd card, add a game and try it.

btw that card will only work in a dslite..

well it that works, you have won a watch.

an origianl r4 card with woods firmware will play any game on a dslite..

including all the pokeman games which seem to cause so much grief..

i have formated with the program then i extracted wood r4 v1.54 to sd. i just coped 3 games to start with.... didnt let me play. do i have to put them in folder on sd card?? thanx

No, don't need a games folder.
What happens, does the card load up? Or is there an error code?

Can you post a picture of the card?

i just made a games folder all sorted just had to press a few buttons to get into games thanx mate
