    3DS freezing-locking up.

Upon bootup the 3DS I am soft modding appears to be working fine.

It displays the Game Card, I press A. Then select games, then it displays loading and takes me to the game menu.

I am able to move the keypad or press screen to select a game located on the 2GB sd card.

As soon as I move the keypad to select the game, the 3DS freezes. I mean when I press the arrow button down to Mario Brothers or Ice age 4 for example it freezes before I can press the play button.

Firmware on the 3DS is 4.1.0-4e.

    Any ideas folks?

What files should I have on the SD card for this particular f/w?

    All help appreciated!

      Thanks tho.....

PS:: The Firmware on the 3DS is 4.1.0-4E.

Is this a known fw with issues?

nope, that should work straight off on that console..

        just to double check:

1: format sd card using the panasonic formatting tool

2: download and extract you firmware, then open and copy various files/folders to sd card.

3: test a trust rom first... (check your pm's for that. )

Whoops. Now I see the point of the rom file in PM. Apologies. A fresh rom is what ya meant. Cheers. Thought of that already, but I will try the formatting tool.

Thats what happened. Now I remember.

I was able to load up a game at the start without it freezing when I first modded the ds earlier.

Then when I pressed the A button to play the game, it said creating a SAV file and froze. After that it didnt work. I had to power it of and on.

              Hummmm..... Now I remember!!

have you left enough room on the sd card for sav files?

                  I did indeed.

                  I did the following

                  1. Formatted sd card using the panasonic formatting tool

2: Downloaded and extracted this firmware opened and extracted files to root of SD.

                  3: Tested a trusted rom.

Now its fricking stuck again. But its worse than before.

Once I select the cartridge from the DS menu it attempts to boot up, then it just shows a red SD card icon with a question mark and just hangs there.

EDIT:: I got the frigger working.

I formatted the SD in FAT32 through Windows and extracted the files one by one and it worked right away first time.

Happy days. I am now playing bomberman, the original old version. I am addicted to it AGAIN!
