Hi, further to my last post - how do I know which update is on the Acekard already? It is an older card of my daughter's and I don't know which file I need to download cos I don't know what I already have on there.

you cazn tell what version card it is by the icon it displayed when running

doesnt matter whats on the sd card, just put AKAIO 1.9 on it..

Ok thanks I will try to work out what, where and how to do that. Do I need to format card first? I tried to go to the download link in the 'sticky posts' but it didnt seem to work for me.

I downloaded and extracted the formatter and formatted the card so there was nothing on it. Then I dragged the 1.9.1 file you said onto the root of the card. Then I got the file ak2ifw_update_3ds43_dsi144_onDsi_DSXL_3DS.nds, extracted it and also dragged it onto the root of the SD card.

Then I put the SD card in the Acecard and inserted it into a DSLite that i have. Turned it on. I get a message - system file is missing. The DS Lite is Version 5 (2 magenta screens) according to instructions gleaned from googling how to check firmware version.

What have I done wrong?

I just had a thought that maybe I needed to put the other file on the SD card - the one for DSL not 3DS. So I deleted one and put the other on - still says system file missing on the DS.

So I am stumped.

You need to open the 1.9 file, then copy the aio folder and akmenu file to sdcard

OK On my SD card root I now have:
1) _aio folder with all its bits in it
2) a Games folder with 1 game in it
3) the update for 3ds that I downloaded from Acekard
4) akmenu4.nds
5) loaderchangelog
6) readme AKAIO
7) readme before update

The game works in MY DSiXL and in the DSLite , but in the 3ds it still comes up with a black screen and an error message.

Do I have to something to the card when its in my DSiXL before it will work in the 3ds?

Put the acekard in dslite or dsi, then load up and look for the update file, same. As a game,.
Then follow the on screen instructions.

yippee it worked. thank you sooooo much. I also went to www.youtube.com/users/R4woodcenter which was extremely helpful. The video showed all the steps, and he has other videos for other cards/consoles.

nice 1..

now make sure you delete the update file off of the sd card, save any future accidents.

all you want on sd card are:

1: _aio folder
2: akmenu4. file
3: games (in a folder if you want)
4: sav files

and do not update either the dsi or 3ds or the card will stop working again..
