Complete N00b got an R4i-SDHC V1.4.3 Yellow Splash with 4gb SDHC tff

Right here is a detailed problem I have got ...

I currently own a DSi but unfortunately I Updated it to 1.4.4E ... My card gives prompt on therewith black screen message and for me to switch of the device...

It's an R4i SDHC v1.4.3 3ds v2.1.3 (Yellow Splash)

Wouldn't allow me to download update from there (As stupid me wiped SDHC without backing it up)

So tried R4i-SDHC.COM allowed me to download update ... Still in DSi gives me black screen error

Read up a few things on site before asking for this help ... OK so now I have borrowed my sisters DS Lite .. Put update from R4I-SDHC.COM on to Mem card ... Now on DS Lite gives a RED Menu? with a picture of mem card .... Tried using SD Formatter and then putting it on again but still same ... Then read up that I can use a different kernel (RomMachine Kernel 1.62) Ok so this works in DS Lite but still not in DSi ... I just need a working Kernel that'll give me the options as described in previous posts for me to get past this ... I know it's not a fake as it used to work before I update ... If you need anymore information or can help me from here please help me get to the next stage thank you ... Even if it is for me to use a different kernel or anything it doesn't matter because we only want one thing and that's for it to get working Thank you very much

i dont think that card can be updated to work on a 1.4.4 dsi..


firmware from R4i-SDHC.COM wont work on that card, they look similer but are not..

looks like support has stopped for those cards as the links are no longer working..

could you help me atleast find a download of R4i-SDHC.HK kernel for me to atleast download and make it official I am clueless of where to look

yyou will be lucky to find a copy anywhere now tbh, unless someone happen to read this who has the same card..

Are there any Unofficial Ones that may work without risking damage to R4i Card But seriously thank you for atleast giving me the answers even though I didn't want to hear it, it has helped me to ask some new questions to resolve the problem and hopefully give someone else answers like I have

you can try any firmware you like, doubt it will damage the card.

i can only think of one option that may help.

google "Retrogamefan Multi Card Update". you might get something to work from them..

the card will not work on your 1.4.4 dsi though... (that would require a kernal update, which your card doesn't support)

slim chance you could get it work on a dslite or older dsi..

I do thank you for your trouble and I will give them a try after my download is complete cause got really crap internet speed right now. I did try one other one as explained in my original thread... It worked but not as described in they help site ... but was operational if you know what I mean.

For the internet site that I quoted earlier ... Good News I got the Official Kernel back on the R4i which works on DS Lite ... Bad news there is no update as expected and still don't work on DSi v1.4.4E but thank you for your help and the link you gave is for R4 versions and not R4i (very little versions available) ... My best bet is too either find an unofficial kernel for it or save up to buy a new one.

cards are cheap you could get a card delivered for under a tenner that will work in your dsi.

also newer games wot work on your card..

This may seem a silly question: has it ever worked for you before ? When did you buy the card ? Had you installed the software that had come with the crd ?? LOL don't worry I was confused when i first got my r4 card =D

Yes it was working for me before I accidently updated and it is now working for me now but only on the DS Lite and not the DSi. I'm looking for an update or Unofficial software that will enable for it to run on v1.4.4E atm i've come down from the ladder to enable me to continue using my R4i and lend my sister my DSi whilst I got her DS Lite.

People may see this as a Downgrade but I see it as an alternative :0)
