can you go online with a different region game

i was just wondering if i could go online with a different region rom/game such as jap or usa rom or would i get banned from the network

the ds is region free.. but i dont understand your 'go online' bit.. its not like xbox live or playstation network.. there is no server.. you can play games via wi-fi.. you and a mate next to each other.. but you cant play someone in another country..

then what does nintendo wfc stand for and why do u have to connect to the internet with it

Never seen this before on the DS.. Seen it on the Wii though..

Looks like i may have been wrong in my intial assesment..

You should be able to use ROMS it isnt a problem with the Wii
