Looking for a xmas present 3DS or 2DS which can take a cartridge

Hello All,

My son has had a DS for yonks now with the cartirdge in the back and the back up roms on,,,,, I know that these are really old now, and there are new options on the table (3DS and 2DS) but can these be used with back up roms and a similar cartridge in the back?

Once again, I thank you all in advance for taking the time to read and or respond and provide help to a useless techno dimwit!!!

Can any of the new devices be used with the existing catridge and games - i think it called backwards compatible??

If you need a used 3DS console, you'd better go to Nintendo.com and order from them directly,
they sell refurbished 3DS consoles.

For cartridge,yes, there are many cartridges can support 3DS and 2DS.

If you only want to play 2D games on 3DS console, just get a cheap card,
such as R4i 3DS or supercard dstwo, they are very cheap.

If you want to play 3DS games, now, there are only 3 cartridges can help you,
Gateway 3DS, 3DSLink and R4i Gold 3DS Deluxe( i own a gateway 3ds get
from BestR4i3DS.com, price not so expensive as other sellers)
but they can only work on v4.1-V4.5 3DS firmware,
so you'd better not update the firmware .
