have a dsi from usa on 1.3u, tried diff fw for it and no good, is it possible ?

nintendo dstt and the n5

hi i have had the n5 for a while now i first brought it for my daughter but kept having problems with it first it started by loosing the saves and then it started to freeze all time but now when i try to put it in is just says there is no cartridge inserted. I also recently brought the dstt card for the nintendo ds lite i orginally ordered the dssti card wich i am just waiting for as i recieved the dstt card by mistake so i thought while i was waiting for the correct one to arrive i use this one but everytime i put it into my ds lite it just keeps saying menu ? and thats all it does untill turned off can you please help me it's driving me mad i have tried everything i can think of to try and get them working. thank you kmilso.
