Hi all I just purchased an r4 upgrade which was not what I wanted but thats what they sent now I can't seem to find the right software to put into it I have tried 1.17 and all I get is a red menu screen with a ? in the middle of it can anybody out there help me with this one// I would greatly appreciate it

yes m8 the v1.17 will not work with that card try the download section that has most of the kernals in there
failing that just post back with exactly what it says on the card if its just the upgrade or if its the upgrade 111 plus check back with the website most web site have all the software downloads for you

R4 SDHC Upgrade - red menu
Hi, I'm also having the 'red menu' problem. I bought a SDHC Upgrade for my son's DS Lite, so that he wasn't constantly borrowing his sister's Edge Card (which i've never had a moments trouble with). I've downloaded and copied umpteen kernal versions, without success. I'm going to try a few more from this site - but apparently I must make a forums post before I'm allowed to do this. This is that post. Sorry for the long 'contentless' post, but if I do find a solution, I will post it. A.Comment

Got an R4 SDHC, think the latest version is 1.18 or something. You could try:

also make sure your time and date are set correct,if you put a r4 in your ds that has been put into another ds the save files are time stamped. so when you turn on your ds with the wrong time and date you also get the red "menu ?" screen.Comment
