New super Mario bros problem

I have downloaded this game from Romulation for my daughters DSi, the main game works fine, but when she tries to play minigames the screens just go blank.
Using a R4i game card (black one)
dsi version 1.2E
All other games work fine except for this & Mario & luigi inside bowsers inside story.

any help please.
