R4 SDHC Card problem

I have just recieved my sons R4 card and downloaded the software 1.23b from the R4i website. I followed the instructions by formatting the card and dragging the files onto it. When i switch the DS on i get the message:- An error has occured. Press and hold the power button to turn the system off. Please refer to the Nintendo DSI Operations Manual for details. Anyone have any idea what's going on here? Thanks.

if its a dsi did you get the correct card?i think theres a few different types

Hi, thanks, yes it's a DSI that my son has. I take it's a R4i card that i need then?

Well i have tried over the past few weeks to upgrade to 1.23b via wifi and each time the console crashes, there is something wrong with 1.23b it will not boot games & in some cases the NDS itself ,If i revert back to 1.17 and all is fine but the latest games will not play.

I also have to put the date back to the 13.June for the NDS to work with 1.17, there is something wrong or Nintendo are doing something to slow down pirate games.

better to try the 1.20 that is in downloads here Digital Kaos - Downloads - r4i english version 1.20b 1.4

To be clear on 1.20 version - is that for r4i only or r4 as well?

Had to ask question to get account enabled or I'd have just dl and tried for myself

I have just received my R4 card this morning.

The site that supplies download files is faulty. The R4 and R4i files have been mixed. If the file contains Homebrew directory it is not the correct R4 download. My card is now working fine with SDHC card.
