can anyone tell me how to setup r4i gold for dsi Rev 1.4e

hi i got r4i gold i put the latest firmware , my friends little boy want play some game on it, i tried to put the latest kernel on it but when i put in on dsi nintendo it only shows star wars lethal alliance ubisoft then while screen nothing appears, the website i bought it it said worked in all nintendo ds, dsi and latest is there way to sort it out please
the firmware on nintendo dsi is Rev 1.4e need some advice thank you
