I am new at this. I bought a R4I upgrade card V1.4. Problem is no matter what firmware I try my DSI will not recognize the card. It just says nothing inserted in game card slot. Does this mean the card is bad?

could be many things m8,
but if your dsi is not registering it, then your gamecart is probably ~~~~ed....
there are lots of fake r4 cards out there...
if you have a dsi, then best advice is to invest in a acekard 2i,
cost less than a tenner delivered...
it will save you alot of headaches and alot of head scratching.....
