Red ?Menu Box

Hi there. I am trying to fix my son's DS.

He has a R4i card with 8GB micro SD. It was working just fine for a while then came up with the above problem.

I have extensively on this and other forums and have tried what feels like everything but to no avail - including winding the date back.

Are there any solid suggestions out there please?

the red menu box means the r4i card cannot read the microsd card.

try this first.

1. copy the entire contents of sd card to pc.
2. reformat sd card
3. copy all games, files back to sd card....

Hi thanks for the info. Have tried this to no avail. Have tried other Micro SD cards. Have tried setting the date back and even getting latest update. Nothing seems to work.

In manual start-up mode. the R4i is displayed but red menu box appears after I click on it...

do you have a ds or dsi?.
if its a dsi, check which version you have
