Can i update to v1.4 and not 1.4.1??

hi guys, got a question that im hoping sum1 can help me.

I have r4i ver1.4 card. Now the lad has updated dsi to 1.4.1 so i need a new card no problem.

My neighbour wants a card so i intend to give her mine and use the cash to buy my lad a 1.4.1... but hers is 1.3 firmware on the dsi and my card dont seem to load..

The question is can i update hers to 1.4 and not the current 1.4.1

but your r4i card should work on your neighbours card.
what exactly is it doing?
