If it allows wireless connections yes,you would have to set it up on ds and should be just password etc,see if your wireless box is found by the ds

I would like to connect the DS to the internet but, the PC is upstairs and I want to view the DS downstairs in the lounge
is that possible ? I did try but it could not connect, do I need a wi-fi USB adaptor or should I be able to connect without this ?
the Pc at the moment has a brand new wireless router but is wired to the PC, any help would be appreciated

ssid is the name your router broadcasts so you know what to connect to.
Then you will have to enter the encryption keys, if you have set one, if not it should connect automatically.(best to have encryption enabled on your router).

your wireless router will probably be protected.

this is how to set up the connection on a protected or locked wireless router.....

                    1. go into "system settings", "internet"," connection settings".

                    2. tap "advanced set-up".

                    3. select a connection (either 4,5 or 6.)

                    4. tap "search for an access point"

a list of available wireless networks will appear.

                    5. tap which ever network is yours.

you will now be presented with a screen giving some info about your wireless network.
if your network is protected it will say "this access point is secure"

                    6. tap the grey box in the middle of the screen.

you will now be presented with a keyboard.

                    7. tap in your network password and hit "ok"

if you have done it right the dsi will attempt to connect to your router, if successfull it will test the connection and save the settings.
you may be prompted to agree to their terms and conditions.

after that go into the main menu and start the browser.....

Have you connected wirelessly before to box ?if not check website for default settings for box(wireless)/You either got a password or not,or if you cannot find it through ds .then maybe need to reset router ,pin size button, on box .and then goto web,routerlogin.net...and set your network.

WEP as the ds only supports WEP

your router should be already set up.

how do you connect lappy's etc to it?

or are you not using the wireless function on it?
