can you rewrite the r4 card to a r4i

i'm gettin my kid a dsi xl for xmas but he has the old ds as well can i rewrite the r4 card to an r4i card??does a 16gb micro chip work on r4i???.tryd to get r4i but mostly sold out were can i get one dont want to get ripped allready skint for xmas.thanx everyone

if you change the firmware, you can use the sd card from your old card in your new one.

you might have to change the file extension on the sav file as well.

I would get an acekard2i,also on the dsi xl DO NOT UPDATE THE FIRMWARE if it asks you or your son let him know not to do this kind of the number 1 rule with firmwares on any console.think r4i takes upto 32gb micro sdhc.not that you would need anything that big
