R4i software on normal R4?

Hi...I foolishly told my father in law to get an R4 card and i totally forgot that its actually a DSi he has ,Therefore he would actually need the R4i instead...Is there anyway i could put the R4i software onto the micro sd, and put the sd into the R4 card---OR does it have to be an R4i card?...I feel a right plonker.

no mate sorry as to be an r4i,acekard2i etc...r4 wont work with r4i software
