Help! Do i own an R4i gold fake with 1.5?

i bought an r4i gold last week, done everything correctly and the dsi XL just does not find the cartridge game card.

we tried our sons r4i in the XL with the correct firmware and it works fine.

we have put it down to the R4i. It came in a gold box with the avator (film) picture on. It also has version 1.5v on the cartridge and the box, it says R4i talk on the cartidge, which is also confusing!

please help

Do you have a link to the site that the firmware is on and works?
It could be a dead cartridge. Try it in another ds with lower firmware on than the XL see if its detected

hi, my sons ds is just the dsi, not the xl i have uploaded a picture it has the site on the picture. Do dad cartridges happen a lot?

have known a few esp if been dropped. try in another ds tho with a lower fw. when the cart is inserted into the ds, does anythin on slot1 appear? a game name or anything?

hi again,thanks for getting back, does it look legit to you then? i havent another ds to try on, so ill try taking it back to the shop to bought it from and see if he'll replace it.. ill be lucky, a right ripp off bunch they are!

i cant say from here mate but if no game appears when you put it in the ds then its 1 of 2 things, dud card or not compatable with your fw

just checked my sons dsi fw. its the same as my xl. 1.4e. Ill get back to that shop once its opened again and see if i can get a swap (chances are he'll ask for a receipt that they dont give) but if he does ill post here my findings!

iv come to a conclusion.. it says 1.5v on the r4i card, i think its something to do with that? all the others i see are 1.4v or 1.4.1v

That could be the firmware needed. Can you post the url link for your card and what happens when you insert the card into the ds, also what firmware in on the ds (version)

If not card is showing, as i said before, dead card or it could have been blocked by a ds firmware update.

yep, think your right, tried everything now, its sooooooo frustrating,although my first instinct was a broken card, but at the same time just doesnt feel or look right.

i have the same card and its been working fine on a dsi XL ver 1.4U. the problem i'm having is that the kernel hasn't been updated in four months and so i haven't been able to play any new games. any help is much appreciated.
