R4 gold card. Worked for a day but not the next help

im beginning to realise what you mean about the different r4 cards. this was supposed to be fun, quick easy and hassle free. what a joke. will try what youve recommended but hoping i can sort it for my daughters sake. it was her main present so shes not a happy bunny. thanks for post do appreciate

how did u go with micky's update?

original r4 cards were the dogs bollocks.. (still are)

the r4 team were shut down a long time by ninty.

all these new r4 sdhc, r4ultra, r4 this, and r4 that ,are all cloned cards leeching off the good name of r4.

most of them are clones of the tt card....

thing is, peeps still think r4 cards are top of the range....

Same story for me mate ,done exactly what you done with system update.Took my dsixl back to argos yesterday,said it had a fault loading game cartridge. I suggest you try the same .just be polite and say its your daughters xmas prescent.good luck.

the r4 card is gold coloured and says r4igold.cn. If the card is blocked will that block all cards from rthe ds or just that particular card. What firmware do i use because i tried the one trhat use to work but think its now void due to update. im getting very confused

R4 Upgrade?

I haven't played my DS Lite for around a year now but recently passed it onto my son and have an R4 Revolution card which still works with all the old games on official kernel 1.18. Recently have downloaded new games but most don't seem to work is the 1.18 still the latest firmware? I can't seem to find an updated one.

Any help appreciated thanks.

it sounds like you have an original r4 card..

1.18 was the last official firmware released...

good news is,
you can put the latest woods firmware on and it will play everthing...
Digital Kaos - Downloads - woods v.1.20

first things first... back up your sd card. (just incase )

then download the woods firmware,
extract the files and copy to root of sd card....

it should now play almost all games...

The man has suggested that i downgrade the dsi xl console itselt to a ds lite so it will accept the cards. I dont know about these things should i let him or just cut my losses and get a new card. Any advice welcome thanks.

Just a quickie for you as my R4 is no longer working as my daughter inadvertently did a system upgrade (bless her)

So now the R4 card is blocked, but if I buy an Acecard (as you recommend) will it work in my upgraded DSi?

Sell the r4,and get an acecard 2i ,new ones will be compatable but ask the seller first whether it's 1.4.1 compatable just to check
