    will this card work on the xl ?

    i dont know much about the xl, well i have not even seen one but been asked to get a card for it, can anyone please have a quick peak and let me know before i buy blind

      it will work if you can find the correct firmware for it....

      better paying another couple of quid and getting an acecard

      will save you a lot of headaches in the long run...

              the main advantages of the acecard are.

              1. "one size fits all" firmware.
              r4i cards come in many variations all with thier own firmware.
              acecards on the other hand have two. official and unofficial akaio.
              any of the 2 firmwares work on any acecard.
              have a look through the section m8, it is littered with posts from peeps trying to find correct firmware for r4 cards.


              2. acecards can be updated to bypass dsi updates.
              acecards have had kernal updates to overcome both 1.4 and 1.4.1 updates successfully.
              r4i gold cards were supposed to be updatable but basically didnt work.
              so r4i gold cards released before the 1.4 update are useless in dsi's now, i think there was mixed results with the 1.4.1 update, but on the whole the r4igold cards were blocked.
              though the new r4i gold cards work well in the new dsi's


              this is where the firmware problem reaaly kicks in.
              cards that look practically identical need diffrent firmware and will work on diffrent versions dsi depending on when they were manufactured....

                  i just order a acekard today for ?17 i thought priceangels stopped selling flash carts i am gutted could have got two for the price i paid

                      i was on there today and all flashcarts were showing out of stock????
