wood ver 1.21

ive installed this on my original R4 .all im getting is a black screen saying loading.
i formatted the card prior to installing wood ver 1.21
has anyone got any advice regarding this

yep.

1. are you sure you have an original r4 card?
woods 1.21 firmware is for original or 1:1 clones only.
it does not work on sdhc upgrade cards.
what EXACTLY does it say on front of card?

2. have you installed the firmware correctly?
you need to extract the files and copy the file and folder to root of sd card,
do NOT put them in folders.

3. what size sd card you using?
original r4 cards do not support sdhc cards,
the biggest you can use is 2 gig.....

4. what model ds you using?
r4 cards can only be used with dslites.
they dont work on dsi models....

thanks for the reply,the answers to the questions below..


1. it says on the card
R4 sdhc ,Revolution for DS(ndsl/nds)

2 yes i have extracted the firmware and installed it correctly ,its not in folders etc.

3.the sd micro card is 2gb.

4. the ds is a dslite


But heres the thing .we have 2 ds lites, 2 R4 cards that say exactly the same thing as in my answers ,micro sd cards the same .
One works with Wood ver 1.21 installed ,but the other doesnt,i have tried the obvious swapping the cards around etc but still get loading error.

Please any other advice to try get this working as one of my kids wants to play a game that only works with wood ,driving me mad

hi martin,
if your r4 card says sdhc on it then it is not an original r4 card.

original r4 cards do not support sdhc cards.
your only option is to track down the latest firmware available for card and use that.
newer game wont work on it.

the difficulty here is finding your firmware.

you will find a list of most r4 firmware here.

alot of these cards look very similar, but have their own unique firmware.
all i can suggest is working your way down the list until the find the correct one....
