    hmmm
i just bought 3 of the r4i 1.41 cards and all working fine in nds with 4gbsdhc using the firmware...R4i SDHC Revolution for NDSi/NDSL/NDS
i did get the message 'no game card inserted' when i used an old 2gbsd card
my solution was to refomat the sd card then copy new firmware onto it. i did not create a 'games folder'
all three r4's are working fine in 3 different ds's and all work fine with 'black ops' toy story 3 ect

    ps
    1. i always save 'games' and 'game save files' to my pc from the sd card then....
    2. i always format the sd card before adding new firmware then ....
    3. copy 'games' and 'game save files' back to sd card
this always works for me (eccept for when i forget to format)

Interesting... well what did you use to reformat the SD card?

I am using a mac.. so i followed the instructions i found to use Disk utility and reformat to FAT32 format, i found this instruction online on one of the sites where they sell the cards...

      Still didn't work for me!!!

They want me to send the card back AND my SD card so they can verify it works or not...

All kinda long winded but decent CS i suppose..

Still the fact you had "no card inserted" error and still made it work is hopeful.. maybe more tries tonight before i send it back!

      Thanks.

      Zz.

there's a mac formatting tool in this download

Digital Kaos - Downloads - sd formatting tool

the new cards must work difrently.

you could try contacting their customer services again a ask them to recommend where to download fiemware from.....

yes thats the way i normally do it.

but apparently pc's don't always format the cards to industry standard....

so it is recommended to use one of these tools.

to be honest ive only had a couple of cards that i had problems with.

after formatting on pc, i could only transfer small files onto them.

after i used the formatting tool, the cards worked normally again...

both cards were 8gig funnily enough....

your comments on the 2gig cards not working with the r4i's are very interresting, i wonder if the new r4i's can only be used with sdhc cards.

if so, that'll catch lots of people out.......

i'm just looking at a r4i upgrade v1.4.1 r41-sdhc.com this card has a kingston 2gb microsd card (sdc/2gb) in it. i formated ect as above and it works perfect, various games on it including toy story 3

i have had to replace the sd card in my other sons r4upgrade card 2 times as it would take ages to load up menu's and games and reformating became a problem with them i had to quick format first to allow me to full format then eventually the sd cards failed.

ah right, so it was just a faulty sd card then....

the cards that are running slow, try using the formating tool, that'll sort em out.....

no, the r4i card will create a demono.sys file and a swreset file the first time you use it after formatting and reloading firmware.

as for what they do, i have no idea..

                    p.s
have you checked your what firmware your dsi is on incase someone has accidently done a firmware update?

                        mmmm, strange one

if the card says 1.4.1 then it can only play on dsi's 1.4.1 or below and dslites. unless this card has been updated to work on newer consoles. (some cards can be updated and some can't)

but i would have thoiught the console would have gone to 1.4.3 if it had been updated...

what is the web address on the card and what exactly is printed on it?

do you have a dslite you can use for testing?

                                sometimes they just go faulty.

if its saying no card inserted then the consoles arent reading it at all.

if it was a firmware problem, you would have the red menu screen or "an error has occured , please reset system" screen.
