    Wii Backups

    Hello All,

I have a few questions about Wii backups....

1 - I have an external HDD with Wii backups on and I can only access it when I have the SD card in? When I take the SD card out I can see the channel to launch the USB drive but it just doesnt load - I put the SD Card in and it works okay. I dont mind leaving the SD card in, but with it in it doesnt boot straight into the Wii menu. Any pointers?

2 - Where is the best place to download Wii backups. Not asking for pirated material. But when I have a game and want to get a backup of it I want to get from a 'reliable' source.

PM if you wish the info not to in the public domain.

    Thanks.

    FP.

Answer to question 1 is that the wii doesn't boot to the wii menu because yu are using the sd card that has bootmii installed get another sd card and put only the apps folder and contents onto it and the wii will boot straight to the wii menu but the apps will still load from the forwarder, which is the channel you can see. the loader is stored on the sd you can do away with this part by installing your loader onto a fat32 partition on the hdd but as I have said in previous posts I cannot get a forwarder channel to recognise the loader on the hdd but you can still launch the loader from hbc from hdd.
Answer to question 2 has 2 variants official answer is the best place to get a reliable backup is from the original disc every loader has the function built in to copy (backup) any original disc in the wii to the hdd...For example if you damage the original game but then rent the same game stick it in the wii and your loader will rip it to hdd the other variant is that if you damage the original game but have a decent internet connection you will find backups of that game on any torrent or newsgroup site or any other p2p site eg megaupload, filesonic, rapidshare and the likes it is all about experience and reading just remember all backups in iso format are exactly the same size so find the files that are the same size for example 4.38gb and you should be pretty safe if you have a decent antivirus on your pc because there is always some clown out there throwing about problems
