was quite surprised by the way that wiimc actually recognized a 3gp file and played it.my goal was to save the movies as 3gp instead of avi thus saving a lot of HDD space, it didn't quite work out cause the video and audio quality were very poor.i wanna try mpeg4 next see what results i get.Comment

Well you can play movies in the picture channel. The book says they can only be MOV or AVI so I put a short AVI film on a flash drive but it wouldn't recognise the format. I downloaded a video convertor and in the video options it shows Wii AVI films so I converted it to that and that movie played.
It didn't play it properly as there are no movie controls lile WMP and VLC you just use the + button to step through the movie. It didn't play the whole movie either only half of it.Keith

i see that red kawa has a free video converter dedicated just for the wii.
Wii Video 9 - Download
but it was disappointing to see that they have 4.1 firmware as the latest.i was hoping using this would solve the audio video sync problem but i am on 4.2, gonna give it a shot anyhow with the 4.1 version.
so tried this converter and it worked got the audio and video in sync.Last edited by briggs411; 14 June, 2011, 03:35.Comment
