iPlayer on softmodded Wii?

Hey, I have ordered a used Wii from CeX and looking forward to softmodding it. However part of the reason was to get iPlayer to stream stuff to my downstairs TV. Apparently you have to get it from the Nintendo shop, so if I have a version which is lower than 4.3, will downloading iPlayer force the 4.3 update?

Plus if it did this, would I bet able to keep iPlayer then softmod the console with IndianaPwnz or w/e then still get to use it?

Couldn't find any info about this so help would be very much appreciated
