    Creating Forwader/channels

    Hi Guys,

Im in the process of trying to create a forwarder for an app,
Im looking for an app to create the forwarder.dol which I can then make a Wad from .

the app I have ( only seems to be able to make one for an SD or SDHC.

I want to be able to make it still run from the HDD

what app are you trying to make a wad for?
    try wadder or custumizemii.
you need to use a pre existing boot.dol.

Hi Ck, it is a WiiMC+ it has some features added (I had a go at compiling!) i have a forwarder for the original wiimc but the app i was using only seems to let me make a forwarder to point at the sd I have both wadder & custermizemii, i have just read that i may need a nand loader... ..

Star CK, am i right in saying that U loader is the only USB loader than can emulate NAND so all gave saves etc can be there and then i can just install a full channel for my wiimc+?? what about the xml docs etc that go with it.. or is the way to go stick Wiimc on the sd and install a forwarder, to point at the the dol.....

am a right in saying its not possible to create a channel for an app that relies on files other than the .dol??

soz a bout the barrage of question's!!!!

Yes U loader is the only one that can emulate nand, but I'm sure you noticed if your read the link from CK that not all game saves work and it can only read wbfs to date, I have only found three game saves that don't work and there may be a problem with the deathly hallows part 1 but it doesn't show until half way through the game so I am trying to find a workaround instead of starting from scratch again as for the other questions I'll leave them to CK he'll give you a better answer

(well apart from the hanging i get but i think that might be down to my hdd spinning downwhen i leave it for a while) .. as all my backups work fine but im gonna try uloader.

I used usb loader gx to begin with but with a 1tb hdd it didn't me long to realise that by the time the kids started adding songs downloaded for singing and dancing games and the sheer number of the game saves they HAD to keep incase they ever needed to start a game in the middle as well as the fact there is 7 people im my house all using the wii and using different save files to stick a 30gb fat 32 partition on the hdd was the most sensible option it also means the teenagers can have their game saves on an sd card that they keep in their room and the little ones can't mess with them. All they then do to play them is point the the required game at the sd instead of the hdd. As all the games have seperate configuration you don't have to have them all pointing at the same place, for example black ops points at the true nand on the wii while the rest point at the hdd until required to point elsewhere

It doesn't matter with u loader my fat partition is third I have wbfs ntfs then fat and have never had a problem. The ntfs partition is only there in the hope that uloader will eventually be able to read from ntfs but if I have filled 500gb with games before that ever happens I will just format ntfs to wbfs as uloader can read multiple wbfs partitions. You shouldn't have a problem as uloader installs it's own folders in either your fat partition on the hdd or sd thus creating it's own path and file structure so us mere humans can't send it to look in the wrong place

I bought one of those you just have to be careful where you put it. I don't use any forwarder.dol just run all 3 of my USB Loaders from the Wii menu simple.

unfortunately there is no safe place in my house!
I think I'll put the thing on its side.. unless anyone knows that is not good

I liked the way I had autoboot to wiiflow, as by the time you have turned the telly on its ready to go!

but i think for me now.. channels are the way forward (no pun intended)

The drive will work ok on its side.

Well try the Wii menu channels you have nothing to loose until you find a solution.

Set priiloader to autoboot from u loader forwarder.dol instead of the wiiflow.dol. The reason I say to boot from a forwarder instead of installing full channel wads onto the wii system menu is that (I don,t think) you cannot autoboot from a system channel (only the system menu) and installing wads to the system menu for channels or any other reason is about the only way you can brick your wii so you have to trust that the file you download is not corrupt

Cheers Happy H, good info!, so theoretically could i make a forwarder for pretty much any app and set that to autoboot thro priloader? i just assumed that the wiiflow one i had was specifically for that purpose...
