    Ive played movies through Mplayer CE and Wiimc. I have the Mplayer CE and Wiimc channels on the menu but Mplayer CE doesn't work even though a channel is only a short-cut to Mplayer CE on the SD card.
    Yeah, sorry. The wii stock menu channel, "Picture" channel hasn't ever even been tested or used on my wii.

    Where can I get a channel WAD for winmc? I can't seem to find the one I used to have on the PC storage.

          And, for the record ... just about any format of music/video has worked for me so far.
          Hi mate, Im sure you cant stream games with it, but....WIIMC works well with VLC shares, thats how I have mine set up and you can set it up to share folders on your PC.
          you can also watch HD movies on the wii through it.(i think its the only way as the Wii dont do HD)
          I believe it has to be Version 0.5.4 of VLC Shares

          edit the WIIMC onlinemedia XML with:

          <link name="VLC-Shares Collections" addr="http://IP_ADDRESSOFPC/vlc-shares/" />

          this configures vlc shares

          and it will appear when you look through online media

          The "google machine"will explain the details/benefits... most of which I dont understand..Lol
