Is It Safe to leave Wiiconnect24 on?

Hi am still a little bit confused about wiiconnect24.

After doing the 3.2e downgrade from 3.4e and installing starfall etc is it safe to leave the wii settings on wiiconnect24 to on?

Or can it do updates itself and mess things up?

Any help on this would be great thanks

Assuming starfall works correctly you should be able to leave it on indefinitely. Most people seem to turn it off presumably erring on the side of caution. Other sites indicate you should have no problems with it on.
