Well you obviously have a 4.3 to use LetterBomb but is that an earlier version updated? Imgburn is used to burn iso file to a DVD and play them with NeoGamma. Wii over the last 3-4 years they fitted a modified DVD drive so you can't play burnt game discs. You could do with downloading syscheck and adding inside the apps folder on the SD card. You can run that from inside Homebrew and it will show your system version along with all the IOS's that are intalled

    e.g.

It might say The drive supports DVDs which I think means its an older DVD drive and may play burnt games.

Thats not really a problem as you can use an external USB hard drive and load all you games on to there.

Which USB Loader do you have installed there are 3 main ones USB Loader GX, CFG USB Loader and WiiFlow?

Now because you have used LetterBomb which only softmods and nothing else you need to install PriiLoader 0.7 and set it to block online and discs updates plus you can do other tweaks with it.

So if you had the Wii for 3 years and is was softmodded how come you've done it again with LetterBomb?

So have you tried loading any games on to the hard drive?

How is the drive formatted FAT32, NTFS or WBFS?

Mine is WBFS is very simple to use.

WBFS Manager - WBFS Manager 3.0

if you have used modmii to mod your wii and asked it to to instal config usb loader then you should now have a new icon on your desktop called called wii backup manager.

you should also have had a folder called copy to usb (or something similer)

                do you have these?

To install iso games to fat 32 use wii backup manager 4 from the downloads section. It's pretty straight forward to use and I'm to whacked after an 18 hour shift to explain it tonight, but if you get stuck just shout up and I'll help as much as I can but I'm on 24 hour call all weekend so I might take a bit of time to answer

I have my drive formatted to NTFS not FAT32. My SD is formatted to FAT. My game loaders created a folder labelled WBFS and puts all the games in there. I fine that having a drive formatted WBFS is more of a pain in the ass because the PC won't let you see the file system without another program (wii backup manager).

If you load up the game loader, in this case hop on the wii and go to USBLoader gx. Put a game disk in the wii. A screen will pop up "NEW DISC DETECTED" options "INSTALL, MOUNT DVD DRIVE, & CANCEL". Click install game. USBLOADER GX should take care of the rest. After the game is installed on the USB, connect the USB drive to your PC.

If you decided to use NTFS format for the HD then you should be able to see a folder called WBFS. Otherwise you will need a program to help you see the partition if it's formatted WBFS.

Wii Backup Manager will allow you to shrink the .iso games and calls them .wbfs files (all the fluff removed = under 4 gb games = more games fit on the drive). Wii backup manager will do this regardless of what file system you decide to use.

HH can probably explain all of this better than I can, but I figured I'd give I go.

Oh yeah and the games will be labelled something like SI3E69.wbfs. The number refers to the game index number. In this case that game is FIFA 12 [SI3E69].wbfs. I have renamed every single one of mine like the "FIFA 12 [SI3E69].wbfs" one, so I can read the games visually on the drive without having to use wii backup manager to see what games I'm transferring from my Wii HD to the PC HD. My external Wii HD is only 300gb, so I occasionally swap a few games out, depending on the game play mood I'm in. That is of course until I get myself a 1+TB HD for the Wii.

You are pretty much there n8, the bits you missed are that wii backup manager will split the game into 2 useable files if the game is over 4 gb which is the maximum file size on a fat 32, there are only a couple that are over 4 gb super smash bros is one of them. When formatted to fat or ntfs you can not only see the drive contents but can recover them if it goes tits up much easier than wbfs. Another little trick that backup manager can do is remove the update partition from an iso before burning it to disc i.e. tin tin. It can also load ciso files onto your hdd which are tiny game files that gx used to be able to read, don't know if the new version can. the difference between using ntfs and fat is the limited file size for fat but ntfs is not as stable and neither of them are as stable as wbfs but I wouldn't change whatever format you are using if it works.

One thing that video didn't show is Prepare SD card on the HBC menus which puts the [BootMii] folder on the SD card so you can do a NAND backup, thats the first job you do after softmodding. Without this folder you won't get BootMii to work.

Keith has made a very valid point..If you don't have a nand backup I would strongly suggest you do make one as soon as possible. A nand backup is essentially a system restore point for your wii...If you have bootmii installed as boot2 then as long as you have a nand backup your wii is almost impossible to brick. After you make a nand backup go to the next symbol along and attempt to do a nand restore. May sound silly but wha this does is simulates a nand restore with the file you have just made on the sd. After the simulation it will tell you if the restore will be successfull, if it is then you just cancel the restore and you know you have a working nand. I MUST STRESS ONLY TRY TO RESTORE THE NAND TO TEST IT IF YOU HAVE BOOTMII AS BOOT2 AND NOT AN IOS. If bootmii is installed as an ios only (only option on newer wii's) do not try to restore a nand backup unless absolutely necessary as you may brick the wii. IOS only bootmii does not work very well for nand restore. Your best brick protection for ios only bootmii is priiloader.
